Counseling Approach
My counseling approach is integrative, holistic and person-centered. I hope to be a mirror for you while you process your experiences and emotions. I aim to create a space where you can come as you are, and be truly yourself. Getting help from family and friends makes sense but has its limitations. When working with a professional counselor, you are provided a confidential and unbiased space for processing whatever comes up. There is no advice-giving. There are no “shoulds.” We use compassion and humor to address the absurdities of today’s society. We use compassionate listening to find out what needs attention. We pull narratives from past and present to draw lines between different parts of your life. Whether you are a birthing mother or a supportive partner, you will feel heard and uplifted after our sessions.
If you are expecting a child, I hope to guide you through your parenting journey with unconditional positive regard. Helping you feel more confident in the relationship you have with yourself and your child is the foundation of our work. Our sessions may include processing your feelings around what happened during childbirth, reflecting on childhood experiences that come up during parenting and topics like renovating relationships that have been neglected after having a child.
The most important part of counseling is that you feel safe and comfortable sharing. Whether you are looking for just 5 sessions or ongoing counseling, it is important that you feel like it’s the right fit for you. I adapt our sessions based on what you need and will maintain a confidential space for you to bring your feelings. My integrative approach provides a variety of theoretical methods.
Theories
Person-centered, Relational Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Compassionate Inquiry.
Intake
Prior to our first appointment, you will be asked to complete intake forms and a mental health screening to improve my understanding of what personal and physical history you are coming into session with. This is all provided online through a confidential platform. Signing up for counseling only takes a few minutes. I do not provide a free consultation, the intake session, our initial appointment, is when we explore our potential fit for starting counseling. I believe we can do a lot of great work together in a single session.
Sessions
I offer individual and couples counseling online via a HIPPA compliant confidential video platform. There are immense benefits to weekly counseling for 50 minutes. If you prefer shorter or longer sessions, I can work with you to create that. Prioritizing a self-care routine and making time to receive support is an essential skill.
In-Person
I plan to offer in-person counseling in the central Seattle area starting Fall 2025. In-home sessions will become available early next year as well.
Fees
I accept all major credit cards.
$120 individual counseling (50 minutes)*
$160 couples counseling (75 minutes)
*Please reach out if you need financial support, sliding scale spots are available. I never want financial barriers to get in the way of your ability to get the support you need.
